So my engine started screeching loudly the other night and it has progressively been getting worse. I have used a belt grease but it only helps the noise when the truck is idling. The noise gets way worse when I am accelerating, what can I do? Are my tension pulleys off? Someone help!!

    Could be your waterpump.
Pop your hood and stand in front of your engine, (engine off of course) take hold of top fan blade and pull it towards you and then push back. If it wobbles your bearing is bad.
Another way to check it is to take the radiator cap off when engine is cold, then start it and let it warm up, once the thermostat pops you should see the water moving thru the open hole. If it doesn't I would hazard a guess of bad waterpump. Does it run hot?

Serpentine Belt is most likely the culprit. The belt tension could also cause this noise allowing the belt to run loose.

Have you ever replaced the Serpentine belt?
