Leaving work, pulling my 2000# steel 16ft trailer some guy failed to stop behind me at a stop sign and hit me doing about 10-15...i pulled over to check it out and he sped off. Trailer looks fine...any possibility of damage to my truck? Where do i need to check?

Also just a note...all of my trailer lights were working at the time of the accident...and they still work luckily, lol.

From what i saw when he sped past me, his front bumper was destroyed....im thinking he was drunk...called 911 to report him...hopefully they caught him

So he hit the trailer? I would check around the receiver, check the frame for signs of any wrinkles just ahead of where the receiver bolts to the frame. Also, inspect the welds on the receiver itself (and trailer for that matter), just to be sure.

You should be fine but I would crawl under the truck and make sure no bolts broke on the receiver mounts (highly doubt any were hurt) but it never hurts to check and depending on what hit you vehicle wise you may wanna get a new ball

I remember that story of the guy here who got rear ended by a little corolla. Believe he had a trailer hitch connected. Basically the frame buckled in on itself on one of the sides. Lift the truck up if you have a lift, otherwise crawl under the truck and give it a good examination to make sure nothing looks bent.
