Whats with the hood scoop anyway?

    A hood scoop used to mean that the engine had a turbo, and it was required for air intake. As far as I can tell, the scoop on the TRD is just for looks. True?

    Scoops never meant a car had a turbo. Ever seen a classic muscle car with a skewp? None of them were turbo.

    Yes it's for looks and redirecting sunlight into the driver's eyes.

    True story:

    I owned a 2007 Tacoma 4x4 sr5 base model for a while. Nice truck. Wife and I tried forever to have a baby... Wouldn't happen.

    I trade my 07 (no skewp) in for a 2012 sport (skewp). Bam she got pregnant. Had that baby and now another on the way. Less than a year later...

    I'm not sayin, I'm just sayin...:cool:
