Can someone post a picture of this heat shield clamp on the vehicle? I'm having this same rattling issue, and I think that clamp is completely missing...must have rusted apart and fell off. I don't really know what I'm doing, so I want to make sure I put a clamp in the right spot. I appreciate anyones help.

I know this is an old thread but just wanted to say thanks to everyone because you helped me regain my sanity by finding the rattle.

I know this is a very old thread, but I figured I'd chime in because it helped me solve this exact problem. My rattle seemed to hit right around 1600 RPM, not before and not after. On my truck the clamp around the cat heat shield wasn't rotted through, but the nut and bolt holding it together was gone. Presumably rusted out. I just added a new nut, washer, and bolt and slapped some grease on it. My rattle went away!

been chasing some heatshield like rattle and found the rear bolt/nut on the cat heat shield completely gone my forward clamp/bolt is rusted as hell but still intact, the bolt is now part# 91511-B0614 the nut is #90080-17156, ive found it to be a M5 or M6 size im getting a Homedepot instead of the OE bolt I really hope this is whats causing this rattle on acceleration but seems to dissipate once the truck gets up to operating temp.?

Good info Bill, thanks for sharing that. I fixed this rattle once, then it started happening again so I need to get another bolt and nut to replace the other rotted out one. To the depot I go

definety go to the DEPOT I called a few Dealers to get the bolt and nut they have to order it for five times the cost. I just used the bolt and nut from the DEPOT cinched it up just as good or better. I had to shift heat sheet hole around to pop it in no biggie, she'll go in

I'm glad I found this thread. Can someone tell me if this is on the driver's side or the passenger side of the vehicle?

    thanks in advance!

    Same crap everyone else got
Also wondering this. I just heard my rattle today and need to track it down. It sounds like mine is on the passenger side though.

Thought I would throw my 2 cents into this thread instead of starting a new one. This thread def helped me track down my rattling issue. Found out I had a handful of desert rocks stuck in my cat converter shield for the past two years causing my rattling noise, which started at a certain RPM. After battling with a rust seized clamp for an hour, I was able to get my shield off, remove the rocks and now I am rattle free. Also, threw away that OEM clamp and added a hose clamp.

    F you rocks

I just had the rattling noise on my 2015. The clamp was in good shape overall but the little bolt had rotted away and allowed the clamp to slide down the pipe and vibrate against the exhaust hooks near the bottom of the pipe just underneath the driver's side front door.

Have to look a little more to see exactly what this clamp is supposed to be doing. I was just happy to get rid of the slight vibration noise while the engine was running or from time to time as I was driving.

My '15 started doing the 1800rpm buzz last winter. Finally had to get under her to do an oil change anyway. Everything looks really tight and rust-free which amazes me, except for that one @#$% clamp part #90080-46121 where the CLAMP part looks fine but is hanging loose buzzing because the Chinesium bolt has morphed into a glob of rust. $6 part evryone want $10+ for shipping, lol! An SS hose clamp will do, thank you.

In case you didn't see it in my thread, I'll just repost it here.

The buzzing is from the clamp that's supposed to hold the protective/heat shield for the catalytic converter. All I had left was the clamp.

You need 2 bolts to hold the 2 clamshell pieces of the heatshield together as well as 2 nuts to go with those clamps. The last bolt is for the tail side of the heatsheild and it goes into the clamp that has the nut welded onto it.

Here are the part numbers and quantities and the price I just paid.

This was all that I had left.
