There is a guy local to me selling a used Warn X8000i. He doesn't know how old it is, so I'm assuming based on the pictures that he works in a shop and probably took it off a used truck. He "says" it works good.

He had it listed last week for $300, now it's down to $250 thinking I can get him down even more. What do you guys think? Is it a wise idea or should I hold out to buy a brand new smittybilt xrc8? Thanks for the help again!

That price can't be beat, especially if you can get him to go lower.

I would snatch that thing up (if it works).

i'd buy it then take it apart and clean the shit out of it, either way its a killer deal, might want to ask if you can hook it up to a battery and try it out first

As long as it actaully runs - Hell yeah. You can rebuild/upgrade parts if there are items in question, but getting a basically working unit for that price is awesome.

I would NOT buy a winch of unknown origins...they are easy to steal.

That's one of my concerns with it, I am still really wanting the undercover winch mount and I know this wouldn't fit there so I would have to settle with the hitch mount. That's my biggest set back right now, but then again, going this route would be sooooo much cheaper.
