    List Price: $129.47
    Our Price: $98.00

I have a similar part on my Volkswagens, and have used aftermarket units on many full-size trucks. They work great in dusty areas.

    Yep.
My guess is that it will fit. The intake in the photos look just like ours... wonder if I can make this work with the new snorkel...

Here's some pics of the internals. The thread you refer to doesn't include any install instructions or pics. I PM'd the poster today.

interesting. I see how it works, just wondering if its really that necessary. 98 bucks gets me quite like 5 air filters.

They work, at least every post I can find on the interwebs says they do. They are standard equipment on lots of non-us Toyotas in markets that include less developed contries (dirt roads), as well as on mil-spec Toyotas.

So it's a pre-filter to the filter? After this, is there going to be a pre-filter to the pre-filter to the filter?

Just trying to wrap my head around this.

Pulls large particulates out of the airflow path to protect and extend the life of your air filter in dusty environments. Lots of folks put similar centrifugal cleaners on top of snorkels, and most large construction and farming machines have one. This just moves it under the hood.

Anyone have pics of this installed in a Tacoma? My friend did it on his 4runner and praised its dust collecting ability.

I know a guy who did it on his 4th gen. He recently got a 5th gen. Not sure if he's attempted it there yet.

FYI, these come factory fitted to the V6 1GR-FE 2005-2015 Hilux's sold in Australia. They work surprisingly well for removing heavy particles. The part number used is 177300P010, its should be a straight bolt on for 2005-2015 Tacoma's

This doesn't appear to be a direct bolt-on based on my research but I could be wrong.
From the fender inlet on the Tacoma to the airbox inlet is one piece vs at least 2 pieces for the FJ.
The FJ shows the pre-cleaner clamped to the "air inlet hose" so the hose looks to also be necessary along with a hose clamp. The parts diagrams show multiple baffles too in the diagrams below.
