I have the Pioneer AVH-P8400BH and am looking for a good mic to hook up so I can answer my phone through bluetooth. I want the mic wired though and where is the best place to mount it? Whats a good site for these mics? Pics would be great if you have yours hooked up. Thanks and Happy 4th of July!!:D

Satoshi'd grill. blacked out badges. aftermarket sound system. De-chromed and color matched. OME 885s + Dakars with 3rd leaf removed. LR UCAs. Scs stealth 6 with 285 duratracs. BAMF sliders
I dont use mine much at all, so its mouted in the coin tray, i just flip it open to use it and talk loud haha. I bet a good place would be where the headliner and front windsheild meet.

That's mine... The mic came with the headunit, but I believe it is part number Alpine N04G0008. Looks like a standard 3.5 jack and plugs right into the back of the stereo.

I've tried it out in the driveway and then driving. My callers say I sound hollow, but understandable. I'm not big on using my phone while driving, so it'll work for me. That said, if I lean in to where I have the mic mounted, I still sound hollow, but "louder". Not sure if there's a bit of an echo due to the empty tray space around the mic. There is plenty of wire included, I would assume this would apply to other brands as well, so the mic can be mounted near your visor or rear view. It also has a little nub coming off the side that could wedge onto a small dowel/screw/peg/etc for mounting purposes.

I'll get you one of mine. Came with the h/u but pioneer has now paired up with parrot all of my callers say I sound like I am talking on the phone instead of bluetooth even at highway speeds with the windows cracked.
