Cool! I still think there is great possibility for adapting Jeep JK disconnect or some sort of cable actuated disconnect if you don't want to mess with electronics. Or, just toss it away when you get your 700lb coils. :D It's a fun problem to work on, anyway. I've burned a few cells grinding on it. I'm sure I'll burn more.

What about taking the Jeep JK Rubicon electric disconnect motor and modifying the Tacoma sway bar to work with it.

It works great, disconnect at the touch of a button. I wish the Tacoma had a similar feature.

I'm running 37's with ProComp coil overs that are stiff as hell and removed the sway bar long ago. It drives and corners great, while I can appreciate all the work it takes to design a disconnect, I don't see the need for it. Are others experiencing a lot of excess body roll on the road without it hooked up?

For those who do not have an aftermarket coil over system on their front suspension that stiffens it a disconnect able sway bar for wheeling would be a plus.

I've got an idea for one as well - I picked up another sway bar to try to build it too. :D

    Time will tell. ;)

When I was interested in this (before I went full Ralph Nader mode - no sway bar), I read they were about $2,400. ...and before they caught a pricing error they were priced at $250 or so! :D

It's not as bad (at least in the configuration that many of us have). You just can't act like a street racer. You have to adopt more of a style consistent with a trophy truck driver through the streets of Ensenada! lol

Just drive like you are driving a truck without a sway bar. I swore I would not like it but I am glad to say I have been in many emergency situations and I have survived. :)

Huh, interesting, basically a manual locking hub holding the blade onto the sway bar.
