Muscle car enthusiast have been doing it for years. Watch the Mecum auto auctions. People have been rebadging and trimming out base level vehicles for years. Sure, not disclosing it to buyers would be wrong, but otherwise have at it. As far as beating someone up for asking for opinions, that's kind of weird in and of itself. They are becoming a member of a forum on Tacomas, reading threads and posts, spending time typing only to beat up on people for keeping the thread going? Hello, they are replying to a thread that they think should die or was never worth starting to begin with. Their time, knowledge and opinions are just too valuable to be reading this anyway right?

TRD stands for Toyota Racing Division. If you modify your truck with TRD parts you are not false advertising. It you put the sport or off road on it then yea you are crossing the line. I’m a fan of the debagging group but if you really want the TRD label on your truck you should go to a local graphic place and have them make you a custom emblem for the lower right side of the tail gate. It will let people know you have modified the truck but still keep it true to what it is. Just my .02

My first thought was "stupid" If it's NOT a TRD why waste time and energy to convince anyone it is?

When I saw you wanted to add "Cajun Edition" I thought "Cool go for it!" I think that the tongue in cheek factor would be worth it, who's to say it's NOT a TRD Cajan Edition anyway? What defines the "Cajun Edition"?

IMO, if it isn't a regular TRD package sticker, go for it. A regular TRD sticker would be pointless. Plus like others have said, people might mistake if for a TRD truck if you ever sold it so make sure they know otherwise.

Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.
its not listed anywhere i can find, BUT the sway bar from the front of the 2011 sport, is bigger than the 2012 offroad one i have both laying in my driveway.

It's more accurate to say the TRD OR has a smaller 1.10" dia. sway bar than the standard 1.18" dia. size used in other trim levels (TRD Sport, SR5, base). Assuming the bars are solid, that would imply 25% softer sway bar on the TRD OR, which BTW does not mean 25% softer roll rate, because the sway bar works together with the springs to resist roll. This difference gets lost in the shuffle once you get lift springs or coilovers with stiffer springs.

There's some interesting specs in there. For example, did you know 6-luggers have a 1.4 ft smaller turning circle than 5-luggers of the same cab size?

I didnt even think of it that way, thanks for the info!

i just looked at the 2012 OR bar, 2013 OR bar and the 2011 Sport bars and noticed the sport is larger.. If i would have given it more thought maybe i would have seen it that way, i just assosiated the larger bar with Sport badging since in cars its a common part of the Sport packages

Its completely useless to me as i take them off anyway :) but from now on i will know the OR has a smaller bar :)

^also i mentioned the 2012 and 2011 bars because they are both DC SB trucks, the 2013 bar is AC and i figured it was a better comparison
