Ok since i know first hand about this issue with these leaf springs breaking, i would like to know how many other people have had this or similar situation. Either your leafs squeaks, rusted, broke entirely or something worse let us know!
Brief description on how you think they broke
Pics of the bad ones or it didn't happen

I at first heard mine squeaking for a few weeks and then i went on a trail and got pretty bumpy and gnarly on a few spots on the trail, that's when i started hearing that *CLUNK CLUNK* coming from the rear of the truck.

just hit 90k and snapped drivers side leaf. they were quite squeeky since I bought the truck a year ago or so, and it finally gave out. Ordered general springs stock replacement and plan to install this weekend. Haven't replaced them before but doesn't look too tough...famous last words.

[IMG]Pass. side broke at 45000 got the general spring HD springs did both sides on a weekend. It's not that hard to change them out had to use alot of PB blaster and i had to heat the front bolts on both leafs they were rusted into the bushings. Just take you time and spray all the bolts the day before . I paid around 450 with shipping to Upstate New York.

Mine broke at 55,000. I orderd from General Spring I also bought the rubber pads from toyota for 20 bucks and put those in for the sqeek I have about 4,000 miles on them and the pasanger side squeeks like crazy. I tried and untorqued them and re torqued them and it went away for a week or so and came back.

I just found my drivers side leaf broke while taking down my spare tire.
It had been broke for a while, the new exposed edges had a lot if rust in them.
The taco isnt my DD but a few weeks ago the wife drove it and told me "something didnt feel right".
And for what its worth i never wheeled my taco.
    Has 122k miles.

By the way, General Spring is a good company to deal with. I'd buy from them again. They have standard duty and heavy duty spring sets. They also offer different grades of steel (domestic & foreign). Their customer service and shipping was spot on. If you're replacing springs and you have any rust on your hardware (U-bolts, etc.); go ahead and order new hardware with the springs. You'll save yourself the headache. It's very likely that you'll end up destroying some of the hardware when removing the old set and it's just easier to have new stuff on hand while you're at it.

Like Petrol said get new hardware at least get new u-bolts. With all the stress they are under they should always be replaced with new ones.

Judging by most of the pictures the ones that broke are the 3 leaf non TSB springs. Anyone have the TSB 4 leaf springs break?
