What have others done about this without a snorkel? I too have ripped all my liners out and worry about a direct path to the intake for water. I have seen an internal snorkel that goes into the cab, but not a fan of chopping up the firewall. I was thinking of maybe just running some conduit towards the front by the radiator.

So this doesn't help, but this is the complete list of options I can come up with:

    1) Snorkel
    2) Reroute through wheel well into cab
    3) Reroute through the firewall
    4) Reroute somewhere else (up through hood, volant CAI to the front)
    5) Seal up the whole in the wheel well (Let it pull the air from the engine bay)
    6) Create a wheeliner for that hole (Some sort of cover that protects it like the wheel liner did)
    7) Put back the original wheel liner
    8) Roll the dice with it as is (Don't do this)

Good list, that was basically where I was at in my head, I am down to either #4, #5 or #6 at this point. Leaning towards seeing what I can come up with for #4 custom jobby without a CAI box and run some duct towards the front.

I chose a much simpler option:

90 degree elbow and some drain pipe from home depot (had it on hand). I cut a hole in the core support next to the radiator so it's drawing air from behind the grill right next to the headlight. It was directly behind the little black triangle insert that's in the grill piece.

Nice Ben, that is similar to what I was considering. After a few hours more of digging, most that have run a CAI run to the front grill have issues with rain and snow getting sucked in, so this looks to be a great option. Thanks!

Do you just not want to do a snorkel or do they not make one?

I'm gonna have to get creative with an I take on my 2014. The front fenders will be tubbed, leaving little room for air intake from the fender. I like the idea of brining air from behind the headlight/grill.

Yup, we really dont have too many deep water crossings to worry about either. If there is high water, it is probably in a creek/river crossing, and I sure as shit don't want to be driving across moving water that is that deep!

Plus, I try to avoid mud and water if at all possible.

Snorkels were actually designed to help with dust. Water crossings is kind of a bonus, but you can only go as deep as your next vulnerable components. I did it so I don't kill my truck on a puddle, definitely not crossing trying to cross anything deep.

Plus I love the look! lol I don't know if I would have done it if I didn't think it looked awesome!

Im considering taking the truck to Hawaii this summer instead of
flying. Adding the snorkel has opened up a lot of new options.

Yup, I know about their use for dust, but the concern here is preventing water from the intake via wheel well, and re-route option, the snorkel being one of them. I think they look good on some truck, yours included, just not a fan of them on runners.

Some big paddle tires would probably get you better mileage though.
