I walk out to my truck yesterday and the whole back 1/4 panel on the passenger side is completely smashed in. No note...nothing (It was another employee at my employers parking lot...unfortunately no video) He was confronted by my supervisors after they had looked at his truck and taken pics showing major paint transfer and the scumbag denied ever hitting my truck. We can file a police report, but being it's on private property it's just going to come down to a he said/she said thing...looks like i'm out my deductible
anyone else have accidents like that happen on private property?

Just today some swedish lady backs out of a parking spot into my driver side rear bumper then says "why were you just sitting there?"
I was waiting for change from a drive thru store in their drive thru.
I asked her what the hell does that mean...you can't just back into someone and act like theyre at fault.
    I filed a report immediately.
Hope you get your truck buffed op.

File a police report for hit and run. Doesn't matter if it's private property or not, he fled from the scene of an accident. Don't need a witness when there is damage to both vehicles and paint transfer. Fuck him.

Not yet, I'm a driver and am out all day and when i get back they are already gone. Going to talk to them in the morning again.

The dude always parks in about the same spot and they went out there and checked out his truck...only white truck in the lot with a nice black paint transfer the same width and height off the ground as where mine is smashed in and with white paint on it. But no...we have no video evidence and as of now no witnesses...so I cant say it was for sure him, but walk like a duck quack like a duck

Sub'd. I like to park away from people and cars whenever possible. I also choose my stall neighbors carefully. Sometimes its a roll of the dice though. Sure, its a truck, but that don't mean I want more dings or worse. Any pics OP? Sounds like the bastard got ya good.

Sounds like pretty damning evidence, the paint can be analyzed and matched up, so I'd file the report, and I'd bet he'll admit to more when the fuzz are involved.

Happened to me at work in my F-150 once. Girl admitted to it to police, then denied it to the insurance company. I flipped a gasket. What made it worse, was that it was her first day working at the company, and I was her new boss. That took some balls for her to do that. She ended up quitting a few weeks later.

You need to get police on the other persons car ASAP before they wash all the paint that got transferred off.

Somebody point out the error in my logic but what harm would it do to call the police and get them involved? If your employer is pressuring you not to thats wrong anyway and I would bet that the idea of being charged with providing false information to a police officer would make this guy sweat enough to confess and take what he's got coming to him. If it's obvious due to the location of the damage that your truck was stationary and he's the one that hit you then that's hit and run right?

You don't need either of those things. If he owned up to it like a man it'd be a different story. But he's being a pussy about it when the truth is staring everyone in the face, run his ass to the ground. If you're mad enough to bitch about it but not mad enough to do something about it, then close the thread since it doesn't matter anyway.

Either submit to insurance like it's your fault and you're a victim, or be reasonable and take the guy to task for what it is. Hit and run, fleeing the scene.

Employer can't pressure him not to call the police, that'd be illegal also.

Almost same thing happened to my wife in Carson City. Since it was classified as a Hit & Run, the Sheriff's Office took a report and the jerk was prosecuted and had to pay damages
