almost.....

well,, I almost went for trading in the 12 taco for something else..the chevy1500 extra cab. I just want to see how the market go. the dealer wanted 21000 grand for the taco while the truck they offer for me was 1500 extra cab with ltz z71 package with all the bell and wistle. for 39280 bucks before trade and rebates. I test drove the chevy... nice roomy,, power( 5.3).
My mom, brother, dad and a coworker told me that I am nuts. So I think hard and looked at the taco offered me.
I AM STICKING TO THE TACO. so don't get start bashing on me.

 

I was stuck with a rental Silverado 1500 crew cab 5.3L for half of this week. The gas gauge on that thing went down faster than I wanted it to.

 

ouch... yep my dad told me that,, not going to save a lot with chevy.. I can get 3.5 trips( 210 miles on one tank of gas) at 63 mph on the taco

 

the value on that chevy will go down faster then the gas gauge

 

The taco is better and honestly I wouldn't get a Chevy my dad has a duramax diesel and the only reason he still it is to haul wood and use it as a truck

 

2x^ on that.. I looked at the valve on my from edmound.. which is 24 grand for the trade.. the dealer is low balling me hard..

 

ya these truck hold some serious value thats the main reason i buy them 24 grand seems a little low trade in on a 2012 most dealers use NADA check that out for a more accurate quote

 

I love my Tacoma but I would sell it in a heartbeat for $21,000,000

funny you say that.. the dealer told me in my face that they use Kelly book.. I hated Kelly books due to one thing.. they priced wayyy low compared to NADA or edmound. I am sure they did look in the NADA book on behind my back.

 

ya nuts.. if I really really want to sell it .. I want at least 24 grand.. base on the edmound book which is true even field price. nah I am keeping the taco

Chevy bashers, chevy bashers everywhere! wait, I sold my Chevy and got a Tacoma in 08.

 

most banks go by NADA, some dealers will use both and give you something in the middle but your first pencil will always be usually low trade in value you have to work for what your truck is worth when you trade it in, you cant settle on the first set of numbers they give, i know alot of tricks from being in the buisness for a few years, you have to remember they have to make money to so they are going to shoot as low as possible to make as much as possible.

 

ah I didn't know the banks use the nada valves.. I agreed that the frist penned numbers is not workable. true the dealers have to make money in two ways.. the % from the new truck cost and the % the cost of turning the traded truck to sell back... I might have to pm you down the line. for tips. when I going to trade my taco for another taco down the line
