5 years down the road when you're Tacoma is still worth around $20K, ask yourself if you bought the right truck!

Spend a little money on some decent seat covers, problem solved.

I'm not saying I don't like my Tacoma, just wondering why everyone here decided it was better then the competition, and chose it over the rest! I realize I'm in a Tacoma forum and everyone is going to pick the Tacoma over the Frontier, but the Frontier is the Tacoma's competition, so there must of been a reason they chose the Tacoma over the Frontier, that's what liked to know.I mean the Frontier seems to offer more for the money, but the Tacoma still sells better, what better place to find out why then the people that drive them?

    nothing cool
exactly what i was thinking ^^^

probably like a few people on here i looked at the Nissan Frontier when buying my Tacoma. I had a Ford Ranger before but needed something with 4 doors (compact truck, not a sedan) since I was expecting a little girl in the future. Drove a 2011 Pro-4X and loved it. But I thought the back seat was little small and weird (some people have said otherwise, just my opinion). And to be quite honest I thought the Tacoma looked way more "cool". And seemed bigger (don't know any stats on whether it actually is, just looked bigger).

Another thing was the resale value stinks for the Frontier compared to the Tacoma. That is a fact not just my opinion.

but... you are in a Tacoma Forum. without trolling you could go to the Frontier forum and ask them why they think their truck is better. I'm not trying to be a jackass. But they know their trucks and could probably give you honest (maybe opinions, not honest) answers

Someone that is new to the toyota world let me help you out....

I picked up my 2010 about 3 weeks ago. I test drove a Dodge Dakota, a Dodge ram 1500, ford f150 ford explorer sport track, Nissan Frontier, Nissan Titan, Toyota Tundra, Toyota Tacoma, Toyota 4 runner.

Obviously The others minus the Frontier make no difference. But here is why I choose the Tacoma over the rest...

Size. I am a tall guy (6'6'') but Didn't want something as big as the tundra, ram, f150, or titan. ( the tundra wouldn't even fit in the garage). The tacoma fits very nice and I fit very nice in it.

Dependability. I work in finance and I see trucks of all makes and models every day. I see 2 frontiers to about 6 tacomas all ages on the road every day.

Resale. Toyota has proven time and time again that they just last and hold resale better than most any other manufacturer out there.

Aftermarket and oem support and parts... No brainer here. Lot more options for the tacomas over frontiers.

Cost of maintenance. Search around there are countless stories of tacomas not needing any work in 300,000 miles. Don't see that much on frontiers.

Those are just the main attributes that sold me on the tacoma over the rest. Not to mention the Frontier is small inside even in the double cab. And there is no flare about it compared to the big brother titan. Looks the same

I don't mind the softex, I kinda like it! All I'm saying is the Frontier has real leather plus a few more things for the same price.I love my Tacoma, and it's obviously a better truck, judging by the amount they sell.Just wondering what makes it better. There must be a reason it outsells the Frontier.Just wondering what everyone here thinks as to why it outsells the rest.

yeah you can't expect us to answer your question without a bias. you're in TACOMA world.

but honestly it's the reliability. these trucks are built to last forever.
    is it fast? not terribly.
is it powerful? enough to get stuff done or get you where you're going.
does it have all the bells and whistles like a brand new Mercedes? nope.
but will it get you where your going without an issue? most definitely.

they are low. Mine was 80% at 4+ years and high mileage. I considered a Fronteir when bought my 2009 but dealer responded too late. Only way I would even consider Frontier is if I was going to keep until it died. Resale on Tacoma is too good.

Sorry, someone asking if they should of bought a Nissan makes me laugh! look at any 4x4 shoot outs on trucks, and Nissan is always in last. Heck, the Tacoma Baja performs better then a full size dodge power wagon. Toyota always stands behind there product, and that's why I always purchase a Ford or a Toyota. For me its a simple choice. Tacoma>Frontier. Not to mention the Frontiers look awful.

What year was it? I have heard that Nissan's start to rattle a lot as they get older, never had one, so not sure if it's true.

Honestly, it sells because of the brand. When you see a Toyota truck, what do you think about? When you see a Nissan truck, what do you think about?

When I've looked into purchasing a used vehicle I often look for models with crappy resale value. Then research customer satisfaction if people are generally happy with that model and it doesn't seem to have any common mechanical issues. I look at it as more bang for the buck.
Purchasing a new vehicle I'll look at resale value down the road, again I hope to get the best bang for the buck.

You purchased new so don't look back and have buyers remorse, I think you made a good decision. As already posted you will be happier a few years from now with the resale value of your decision.

Because Nissan is still a crap brand. You won't find "real" leather in a low grade truck either.

I traded in a pro4x for my frontier. The things I did like were the fully boxed frame, leather interior and super solid bed rails, including the two on the floor of the bed. I also found the seating position a little better. I had a sunroof, but only opened it once. The styling was not as exciting to me as the Tacoma. After a few months the new Frontier was just another truck to me. After owning my Taco for awhile now, I am still absolutely in love with it.
