Billies 5100's front set to 1.75 plus 1/4 taco lean spacer. Rears Billies plus AAL for a 2" leaf. 265/75/16 BGF's. Double din Kenwood stereo w/bluetooth and steering wheel controls and JBL speakers front & rear. Heavy duty battery. Billet grill blacked out. K&N air filter and MBRP cat-back. Just tuned it up new plugs and new front brake pads. Steel powered coated tailgate cap. Billet Grill painted black & factory roof racks. Oh new head lights thanks to toyota.
Ok first I did the search and read the threads so I do not need that advise.
I have a 2010 prerunner w/oem shocks. I have upgraded my tires to BFG 265/75/16. I was thinking of upgrading my shocks. Truck has 45k on it. My plans were to put 5100's on so I could level out the front end to the same heigh as the rear. Or install a set of the used TRD yellow bilsteins w/5k on miles one them. I would install them w/a 1.5 inch spacer.

If I went w/the yellow TRD's would the ride be that much better then stock?
Or should I go for the 5100's. Now money is always and issue when your marred w/kids. So the TRD's would be a much cheaper because I was going to buy them off another forum member. Are used TRD's worth the $$ and will I want the 5100's down the road?

if I waited and saved for the 5100's how long does a OEM toyota black shock last?

So I guess I'm asking are used TRD's that much better then my OEM shocks or do I wait and replace them when they wear out. I drive 95% of the time on the road. 5% on the beach or dirt road (weekends)

    That's it fire away.
    Thanks

    .
In my experience, the 5100's are a far superior riding shock than used trd bilstiens, I would offer up that the used trds are really a waste of money, I bought my front 5100's used (10K miles), and they were still far superior to the stock trd.

OME 885 springs on 90000 shocks, sway bar removed 1.5" AAL on 285/75/16s
IMO going from base stock to trd stock is a waste. 5100s are a good start that you can use with upgraded springs later.

A little of this and a little of that.
5100's are the better option than going with used shocks & a spacer.
    Good luck.

Thanks everyone. I'm going to keep the truck stock and replace the shocks w/the 5100's when the time comes.
