How bad is the drone? From that video it seems it could be pretty bad. Accelerating sounds good though. Can you take a video with the windows up traveling 65, then 70, then 75 MPH? Maybe have the camera pointed at the speedo while you do it? Stay at each speed for at least 30 seconds as steady as you can. That would be a great help for me in choosing an exhaust.

 

I had the 40 series and even with all the cats and stock y its drone was so bad at highway speeds I got rid of it asap.
Chokemasters are reported to cost us HP anyhow. The 40 iirc is better for the v8 crowd according to the FM site.

The drone may be less for u double cab guys but that's just a guess.... It sounds great at idle and low rpm.... A nice low rumble... I miss that.... But not when I gotta drive more than 10 miles on the highway.

 

Ill do the droning now, so maybe an hour tops to get it done and created. Its not bad, but thats coming from a person who had an open headers 89 blazer, and a straight piped 400hp Subaru WRX.

The drones bad at 75+, i know that because of the trip from Flagstaff to Phoenix, but I drive locally 90% of the time and i barely reach 40mph.

 

Yeah, that's what I am guessing based on my experience with Flowmasters. They sound great during acceleration, but drone too much while cruising at highway speeds.

 

Like i said give me an hour tops to get the video and make it, then you can make your judgement.

 

Lol ..... Don't forget the fuel pressure regulator mod, the fuel pump, then comes the pulley and keeping the exhaust as free as possible.

And don't forget the oil catch can to keep the sludge out of the runners and off ur intercooler.

It starts out simple and gets out of hand easily..... Ur also gunna want more gauges.

I had a wrx with 400whp, gauges, intercoolers, fuel lines, fuel injectors, pumps, high pressure seals, downpipes, up-pipes, turbo gauges, oil temp, oil pans, all of that stuff, but i want to haha

Thanks for the vid, the drone doesn't sound as bad as I thought it would.

 

it drones at 70ish to 75+, not bad enough to make you deaf. But my long trip, with 5000ft climb in elevation at 80mph, can get to you, especially with the rapid change in gears for 2 hours
