The long bed (73.5") is available on all three cab types. If you want a short bed (60.3"), you are stuck with either the access or double cab.

    aaahh incorrect.

okay slightly. there's a custom built access with short bed floating around somewhere. I believe Toyota built it. but of course that's neither here nor there

(so shut the hell up, Biscuits)

I like to wreak havok in your land and then sneak back to my evil 1st gen hideout (of course yelling COOOOBRAAAA)

QUOTE=Beavis0076;7207878]Yes... But you can't buy it. It's a 1 off customized truck. Too bad too... Neat truck.[/QUOTE]

I know I just thought it was so cool when I saw it that it deserved mentioning. They should have produced at least a few, sort of like special editions.

How much will you be wheeling? What type of wheeling will it be? Are you going to be hauling a ton of shit? Offroad has locking rear diff, but no long bed(unless you get an AC). Sport, I believe is limited slip, color matched, and you can get a long bed or short.

Why don't you just look it up? The differences between trim packages is such common information that wikipedia has it.

There's a wonderful search bar up there in the upper right hand corner!

    But basically

Sport = 8.4 axle, LSD, color matched bumper, hood skewp, and 17" wheels

OR = rear locker, 8.0 axle, chrome bumper, and 16" wheels

Sr5 is a throw, I'm not really sure what's available for it because it can be combined with the TRD packages

If money is not an issue, i'd go with a TRD package, the seats are nicer, theres a small power inverter located in the bed, and the off road package has an electronic rear locking differential which comes in handy off road. The sport doesnt have the rear locker, but it does have a fake hood scoop, color matched door handles, grille and rear bumper. think of the off road package as the SR5 package plus nicer seats, an inverter, and rear locker, aesthetically they look the same excpet for the TRD off road decal. and there is no double cab long bed TRD off road option, only double cab short bed and access cab. TRD sport is available in double cab long bed, short bed, and access cab models. So if you're leaning towards double cab long bed, your options are the SR5 package, TRD sport, or base model (black flares, no cruise control, no sliding rear window, steel rims etc). If you're leaning towards the double cab short bed, you have all the previous stated options plus the TRD off road package. hope that helps

    Welcome to Tacoma World!!!!

It's a Toyota! So any Year is amazing LOL

I think any of your color choices will look great!

If you do not haul a lot in the bed i would just go with the short bed as i feel they look more sporty and fun for a little truck!

Hope you enjoy your new Taco!!!

I have owned both chevy and ford trucks and The Toyota tacoma has been the best reliable truck does far. Don't get the long bed unless you need the extra space the shortbed looks a lot cooler and not just because I own a shortbed trd sport. Also don't get the 4x4 unless you plan on doing off roading or pulling a boat or something, the pre-runner will do just fine. Good luck to ya and welcome to Tacomaworld

Man, yall are a world of help! Im leaning toward the 4x4 model because i do offroad, pull a 17ft boat and a tandum axle trailer full of firewood for 3 months out of the year. Now i have to decide between the trd sport or trd offroad. Does one sit higher than the other or anything? Thanks guys!

No. Both the same. They MAY have different payloads or valving on the shocks. I could be way off tho.

some of the newer sports come with a 4 leaf pack and the off roads come with a 3 leaf pack, but there's a free TSB to get that added leaf put on the off roads
