I'm looking at upgrading to 265's GoodYear Duratrac in either a 16' or 17' wheel. I am not interested in 285's.

My local dealership says they most commonly install the RevTek spacer lift kit. However, I'm wanting something better than that and I'm sure most of you would agree!

I'm not sure why this is so hard for me to figure out, but it is. While this site is totally awesome, I do find it a bit hard to gather all of the facts as to what exactly is needed.

It seems as though a lot of people here just throw out the OME ULK because... we'll I guess it's just easy too!

However, given the fact that I only need about a 2' lift to fit 265's (I think anyway?), I'm looking for advice on what's the best suspension upgrade that will yield me the least amount of problems (aka boots ripping) over time.

I was looking at the OEM Baja suspension package because it's the best fitting/least modification required, but not really available...

I'm not going to be rock crawaling or driving 100mph in the desert, but I will be doing some light off-roading from time to time and certainly come hunting season!

Therefore, given that 90% of my driving will be in town or on the highway, I want something that's going to improve my ride over stock and give me the lift I need....

I'm looking at Fox, Icon, or King or Bilstein 5100's or 5160's???????

I'm thinking what I might have to do is piecemeal something together??

I'd like to retain a little bit of rake so what would be better... a 1.5' block or AAL in the rear?

Basically, I'm needing someone/people who know what the $uck they are talking about to tell me exactly what to do!

Please go easy on me... :)

What does your budget look like? There are MANY lift options available, some moderately priced and some that will make you wish you never bought the truck in the first place.

I'm OK with spending the $ to do it right the first time. So while I'm not needing the most expensive top of the line crazy package available, I don't want to Cheap out either. If I wanted cheap, I'd go with the RevTek.

I'm willing to spend what it takes to get what I need. Nothing more, nothing less... So if that means $2,000, I'm game. If that means $1,200 great....

But I'm looking for advice on specifically what set up I need. Down to each part or kit.

I don't think I need UCA's since I'm not going 3'... Again, only what is actually needed...

Do us all a favor, including yourself, and stay away from a spacer lift. It will ride like shit.

For a weekend warrior setup, the OME package is great, it gives you a 2"ish lift all around...if you want to go a little cheaper, put Bilstein 5100's all the way around, crank the fronts up to 1.75" of lift and add a leaf in your rear leaf pack to match the front ( Go with a 2" lift in the rear for a little bit of stink bug look that will settle out to level after a bit)

I started out with Bilstein 5100's all around...the TSB 4 leafs pack (no AAL) and OME 885x's up front, which yielded about 2.5" of lift in the front. I've been on 265's since about two months after I got the truck...only just recently moved up to 285's...but with 265's I never had any rubbing

as said 265/75/16 and 265/70/17 will fit on stock suspension. Maybe try some bilstein 5100’s to level it out a little. only would need the front’s.

this is exactly what I did. 884's and 5100s to dampen them up front, and wheelers 1 1/2" progressive aal with 5100s in the rear. I love the setup and bought everything from wheelers for less than 700 after shipping.

I liked the way my truck looked with 265/75/16 stock and never had any rubbing. adding that 1 1/2 to 2" really shrinks those tires. trying to destroy them so I can move up to 255/85/16's
