I was heading home today from Telluride, CO....somewhere between Gunnison and Canon City, along the Arkansas River. It was rainy and much of the highway follows the river, wrapping you around left-hand and right-hand turns for miles.

I wrapped around a right-hand turn between the river and a cliff, only to be pulled towards the on-coming traffic. My front left brake engaged for what seemed like forever, but it was probably a second or so [my foot was not on the brake pedal]. That caused my Taco to pull left...not good around a curve! I also heard a ticking noise coming from under the dash area, but no beeping, for the duration of the braking. I've read some very informational forums about the subject, but have not been able to find anything specific to my scenario.

Those of you with experience--would it be wise to disable VSC while in a situation like that...or just leave it on...and maybe hit the wet corners a little more slowly?

No issues since my last alignment, which was only about a month ago.

It was a sharp turn when it engaged...it was also pretty wet.

I'll call around tomorrow, but after seeing a high potential for a $120 procedure...I may just do that too!

I'm inferring here that you were taking these corners at what I shall call a high rate of speed?

Getting VSC recalibrated is good. Driving at sane speeds is good too. Remember, it's a truck, not a miata!

Ask my wife...lol. I'm a slow, conservative driver. I may have been going 25 mph around a curve that was 35 mph. Granted, there was some heavy rain and the turn was sharp.

Long story , but my VSC engagement issue started when I was still on stock suspension and immediately after the tranny reflash TSB had been done to it . The VSC would engage on right hand corners , on dry pavement at low speeds ( 40 mph )

I had the VSC recalibration done and it got better but not fixed , after I lifted and went to 275's , the recalibration did not cure the VSC over-sensitivity , now I drive with the VSC turned off

'ppreciate it. Guess it's a safe bet to have the cal done. However, I don't want to be in a position to explain the procedure to them, only to discover that it didn't improve the situation.

Gotcha! This is the only time I've experienced it...no dry pavement issues as of yet.

I figured it out after it tried to steer me into traffic quite a few times

Yeah...that's not cool. Maybe we'll get some more rain soon and I can test it out!

More of a rhetorical question, but... At what point is it that the VSC isn't being overly-sensitive, but just doing its job?

    Case-by-case, I know...
