Yesterday was driving down the highway on cruise about 65 mph and all of a sudden the truck started vibrating, thought maybe just a strech of highway that was rough but the different roads I drove same thing, anyone have any clue on what this could be? I just recently had a u joint put in the rear but it ran fine for a few days, could it be tires or something?

When was the last time you greased the driveshaft? If its been awhile and there is not enough grease in there that could cause a vibration. I'd start with that - cheap and easy fix.

Take it back to who did the u joint. Is it at all speeds now or just 65.

it's probably the u-joint. or one of the other u-joints. i used to have the same vibrations.

if it's been a while since you got your tires balanced, i would start there though since it seems to be only at higher speeds

I hate to admit how wrong I was on my vibration issue. I had this very defined vibration around 30 to 60 MPH. At 60 it was the most pronounced. I would have bet anything it was something besides the tires. I have never felt a vibration like this that was tire related.
Yesterday I took my truck in for an alignment/rotate and balance. I was discussing the issue with my friend that owns this place and he told me without hesitation that he will fix that. He said they get either a tacoma, 4runner or sequoia in each week for this problem.

This is not your usual tire store by any means. They specialize in very high line cars in the atlanta area. I cannot believe how smooth the truck rides and feels since he performed his magic. The vibration is gone to say the least. I only have 6K on this truck. BTW, the alignment from the factory was way off.

If anybody in the Atlanta area needs a good tire, suspension shop contact Butler Tire. See Craig at the Buckhead location.
