I believe the sport actually has the slightly better differential size wise. Plenty of threads out there on it. 8 on the offroad vs 8.5 on the sport I think it was.

I went offroad for the locker. I have no plans on suping up my truck in the next 2 years so I wanted everything I could get off the lot. Color matched items don't appeal to me any more than chrome does, and neither does the scoop.

It just depends...Do you want to go fast (skewp) or do you want to go anywhere (locker)

Let's see... locker or a fake hood scoop? It was a easy decision.

Unfortunately for those of us needing a DCLB, we have no factory locker choice :mad::mad:. Anybody have any idea why Toyota made this decision?

Sport has the ability to turn of the same things that the off road has. Sport also has the bigger rear end, but who's sizing up .5 an inch. I had to go with the sport on the fact I got a manual, seeing as the OR was 1500$ more and I would be loosing all those automatic features that the OR boast about, the only thing I would come out ahead with was the rear locker. All those traction setting are for the Autos, and I think it's a rip off to buy it for the same price with most of the options gone. I'm not loosing anything with the sport, and can always add a locker later, and tweak the suspension in the future.

I don't like sport packages period, not just on the Tacoma. I hate colored bumpers, don't care for the wheels that come on the sports, no need or desire for a hood scoop, I like my black boring mirrors over the color matched ones on the sport.

I still think your truck is bad!! But, I chose the Off Road because I like chrome and the seats to me are better than the SR5. I'm also one of the few thats not a big fan on the scoop. :spy:

The hood was a dealbreaker for me. The locker and the other goodies are nice, but I couldn't do a non-functional scooped hood. I'm also not a huge fan of the body-colored rear bumper, although I do prefer the grille/mirrors of the Sport.

<-- Has a car with a functional scooped hood.
