Hey TW, wondering what part number for a magnaflow muffler would fit on my 07 DCLB?

Got back from a muffler shop and they said that no magnaflow part number would just weld in without having to add pipes. I drive a 07 DCLB. Is this true?

They add connection pieces a few inches long not whole lengths of pipe. I had mine put on that way and they used a saws all to remove the original in case I wanted to switch them back.

How much do they usually charge for installation?

Nice truck! Did they have to add any extensions or anything else?

I don't think so, but I'll look tomorrow when it's light out.

The tech took it out of the box, held it up to the stock muffler, set it down, scratched his head a bit and said "yeah I can make it work", at which point I went in to the A/C office. About 25 minutes later he backed it out and I was on my way home.

How does it sound, did it add a drone in the cab like a flowmaster does?

    stuff...
I used 12586, its huge, 22" case and 28" end to end, I believe the muffler shop I went to just sawzall'd the old muffler off, expanded the pipes to slip over the new muffler, welded it up and installed hangers in the stock location.
Its a 5x11, it is just about as big as the stock, but straight through design. Its really quiet, and you can only really notice it if you get on the fun pedal. Once I put the URD y pipe on the truck, it still kept quiet down in the low rpms which is what I wanted, but it is noticeably louder at higher rpms. No real drone for me, I hear my tires at speed more than the exhaust.

I will look on my muffler and see if there is a part number stamped. Mine was a direct weld in, no new pipe was needed. Cut the old one out, set the new one in and welded away.

I think the cost of part/labor was 125-135, living in cali everything is expensive.

No extensions, just welded right in.

As for the sound, you don't hear it in the cab at all until close to 3000 rpm, then it's a nice deep sound. No dreaded drone. I will say I didn't get above 60 mph, so maybe cruising on interstate at 80 is the drone zone.

It sounds real nice when running through the gears from a stop with the 6 speed. Also when you turn the key you hear a nice little purr.

I'm happy with it so far.
