My truck has just started having flat acceleration(lack of power) and a lag right when you step on the pedal. Thought I had bad gas or plugged filter but have run it down and refilled elsewhere and parts store says there is no fuel filter listed for this truck. It's a 2005 4.0 TRD. Anyone
have same issue or idea? Is the only filter in the tank? I am now suspecting maybe fuel pump or possibly a week coil or two.

    Thanks

IIRC, the filter is in the tank. Have not delt with it but, from others on the board....

But, this will bump it to the top and maybe some other, more informed members will clue us in.

    As for ur filter.....
    U can get a setup from urdusa.com
New pump, and an external filter with detailed instructions.

Checked out URD, looks like a great solution for $155. Beats having to buy Yota's for $700 and I'll be able to change the filter. Thanks Justus and all that responded.

Heads up..... Mine was swapped today and guess what was on the sock ?

Metal shavings.... And pretty big pieces... Not like salt or pepper sized, but take a peppercorn and cut it in half. About that big, and about 3 halves.

When was the last time you checked/replaced your plugs? Air filter? How about a throttle body cleaning?

Since you are running a stock truck, one thing I recommend you do is go and get your fuel line pressure tested. This will give you an indication as to whether or not you are getting good fuel flow. Other than that I would make sure that you are getting good spark. Have you changed your spark plugs in a while? Make sure that all of the ignition coils are seated correctly and that the connectors are all hooked up correctly. That would be where I would start, and then we can go from there.
