So my grandpas old dodge Dakota finally crapped out, un- suprisingly. I tried my best to convince him into a Tacoma... At first he wanted a GMC canyon, which thankfully he didn't get, but ended up with a frontier access cab with the 4.0 v6. He didn't get a Tacoma because they were around 4g more and the salesman made him mad and I guess Nissan was much politer. I went with him to pick it up (had to be ordered in) and as he was doing paperwork I talked to that same man. I told him I have a 2.7l 5 speed and how I like it, and he told me that 4 cylinders don't belong in pickups! He said they wear out faster, don't get better mileage, and don't have any power. I call bull on his part! What do you guys think? I'd rather have a 4 banger for its reliability, and there tougher than just about any thing........ I'm still a little pissed that he dissed my truck.

He was just being an asshat... Nissan makes their Fronty with a 4 banger in it also. Not everyone needs towing or hauling power out of a pickup and the 4 bangers do well enough. They're not power plants but they're still capable. Don't worry about it, can't fix stupid

If you had bought a real engine, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Who knows your Tacoma better - you, or a Nissan salesman?

    Come on.

Considering when I looked at the frontier the salesmen admittedly couldn't drive standard. How the f can you sell cars without being able to drive 35-40% of the market. They're tards.

Lots of people can't drive standard transmissions. They have to get jobs, some end up as car salesmen.

I'd be surprised, honestly, if 40% of all car owners in the US knew how to drive standards.
