I think AC has better looks.. but not really a back seat IMO.

If I remember correctly, the DC only comes with the SB if you get the manual tranny. The DC with the Auto Tranny is only available with LB. Toyota Canada's website seems to agree with my crappy memory :D

Now that's a 'gangsta lean' on the driver's seat. Do you always sit in the front and the back?

It all depends on your needs - I don't need to haul people, so an AC is perfect for me.

If I was hauling people, then a DC would make more sense.

My first Taco was a brand new 90 AC. I put 287,000 on that truck and sold it to a friend for his son who got it into the 300,100 range before a guy hit him 3 months ago and totaled it. That truck was "bar none" the best truck I have ever owned. Never left me on the side of the road and went where I pointed it. I have had an 03 DBC SB TRD Off Road that I liked, and I now have a 2013 TRD Sport. I am hoping this Sport comes close to the 90. Fact is I love em all!

Ac cab is cool for looks and single people. If you have pets, wife, kids, or others you will want the 4 door.

Get the double cab. Off roading is always more fun with more people. It's also nice to have room to keep stuff out of the rain when you need to.

I definitely wish I had an access cab instead. I don't need to haul people around, and my dogs shed way too much to put them inside the truck anyway (3 Siberian Huskies in TX). I'd rather have a bed long enough to camp in and fit my kayak in, and a DCLB won't fit in my garage. Heck, I'd get a RC if they made one with a V6 and power windows.

Yea, I fold up the jump seats in the back of my AC and my buddy's dogs, malamute and choc lab, just chill on the floor. Weathertechs in the back as been key. I've never had a prob throwing stuff in the back when it's raining except for that one time I was hauling a treadmill... don't think a DC would've helped.

My advice: buy whatever best suits your needs... Get a long bed if you need the length, double cab if you need to drive around fam/friends, trd sport if you want the skewp to attract the hunnies, regular cab if you have no friends, prius if you care about fuel economy.

I actually would say either works for the reasons stated above I personally like the double cab since you van fold the seats down and it has more cargo room than the access cab

I've got a 2011 Double Cab Long Bed and I love it- I get to haul the 3 grand kids around and when necessary I fold the seats down and have lots of space.

I'm only keeping this truck for another week, however, as I'm driving it up to Fairbanks, AK to sell (parent talk for "might as well give") the truck to our son whose wife just had their 2nd and they need the 4 door.

I'll be back home in Chicago on the 14th and am picking up my new 2013 Double Cab Long Bed from the dealer- for me the choice was simple, and I never mess with success.

Happy with my DC. AC is not nearly enough space. My friends are already jamming knees on the seats with the DC..
