Can you guys please tell me or show me how your bed racks are attached utilizing the bed rail system?? I'm building a bed rack and I can't figure out how to use the bed rail so that the rack stays in place. Keep in mind I want the rack to be easily removable. Thanks

Here is my first version. Threw it together pretty quick and I'm pretty happy with how it works so far. Version 2 is getting put together in a few minutes.
Not the best picture, but it mounts to the rail using the stock tie downs.

Did you cut out slots on the L bracket and just slide it In between the stock tie downs? Is that secure? Meaning it won't pop off the bed if you hit a hard bump?

Drilled a 5/8" hole for the head of the tie down to pass through the bracket and it tightens down the same as it does without the rack there. It is very stable. I'll get some better pictures in a minute.

Wow that looks really good!! Well almost garenteed I will go with that set up. Seems to be the easiest and is removable and still use factory tie down. Thanks I appreciate it

Also what did you spray your rack with? Spray paint? Plasti dip? Rubber undercoat? And do you wished you used something else?

You might want to change the title of your thread. You probably get more answers and traffic to your thread to help you.

I built mine this way, the channel is made from 1/8 keystock welded to the 3/16 thick angle to keep the "cleat" from turning once installed. There is just enough length in the cleat t-bolts to allow it to work.

I've had really good results from Duplicolor Lacquer so far. The aluminum racks I'm working on now will be raw aluminum.
