I agree. My AR-15 comment was a joke...although, there are crimes someone could commit in which I wouldn't mind filling someone with lead (breaking into my house, harming my family, ect.) But, as far as stolen gas goes, a good arse-whipping or embarrassment would get the job done fine. I had a neighbor who kept a cooler full of beer in the bed of his truck and teenagers kept stealing it at night, so he caught a king snake and put it in the cooler. Needless to say, those kids never stole beer from him again.

You would go to jail for shooting someone trying to steal & or assault you on your own property ?? Or just if you shot them (not fatally) to protect your property ??

Either way that sucks, I mean i get that if you catch someone in the act you can't just empty a clip into them but what if threatened with bodily harm or you were in fear of your life ?? Whats Canada's position on that?? if you dont mind me asking ...

It would be shoot to kill depending on what was trying to be stolen and if someone breaks in its a done deal. Bullets are too high for warning shots and shooting and just wounding leaves it open for them to sue. Tie up the loose ends. You'd be in self defense if its a break in.

Apparently we have gone from the code of Hammurabi to a system of fair jurisprudence and then regressed way back way before code of Hammurabi.

We are now "your life (and possibly an innocent bystander's) for a few dollars of cheap fuel)"

Og no like law. Og kill with rock.

Actually still here even though the thread is too far gone. I called local pd and they came out last night and did a few drive throughs. No gas missing this morning. But told the guys working on the garage what happened and they said it will be in paint today or tonight. But they are going to get it wrapped up today.

As far as the screen im not sure if there is one or if they have just pushed the hose in hard enough to break it.

Doug, I've had the suspicion that this is the silent response that many members have to my posts...

Code of Hammurabi: eye for an eye, etc. If you steal something, the hand you stole it with is cut off. And so on...

OP Adam, by the way, sorry about your troubles, and sorry we are going a little crazy in your thread. No disrespect meant, just having fun. But the simple solution came up early, get a Stant locking cap, that's the first mod I did on my 1st gen 4 years ago, which did not have a locking door, and which is easily pried open anyway. No issues since I did this.

Not worried about the de railment. Just have fun and don't piss anyone off lol. But seems issue will be taken care of today. Just got off the phone with contractors. Said its all sanded and they are going to lunch. Will come back in an hour and flood the garage to get the dust out and start painting. Then told me I am short three electrical outlets. So they are going to pic those up and have the electrical guy put them in.
