Just wanted to know what everyone thinks.when I turn my speakers up to 55 the rear right passenger side door speaker crackles a little bit,is this normal should I be concerned?do you think I can get this covered under warranty?what would I tell the dealer? he would probably just say don't turn your volume up that high.I would like to know what everyone thinks I don't want to upgrade my stereo system right now I just want everything to work correctly. Thanx!

some of this, a little of that

What does the scale go up to on your stereo? The stock one in my 2008 was pretty loud around 30, i couldn't imagine 55

I have a 2006 with the JBL package and mine goes up to 63. To be honest with you though even with the upgraded stereo system it still sucks but I heard all the 2nd gen stereos werent ever that good.

Could my speaker be blown? It only crackles when it's really loud? Warranty repair?

Anything is possible and yes it can be blown but not sure if warranty covers stuff like that. How new is the truck?
No mine have never crackled before.

Oh okay. I guess you can always call them and see if its covered under warranty?

Yeah, but what can I tell the dealer? If I tell him my speaker crackles when the volume is up around 55, we both know what there going to say.

The weird thing is, I just went outside to try the speakers with a different song, and it sounded fine, but I noticed, my left rear door speaker is completely out!I'm bringing it in to get looked at and hopefully fixed!

It's hard to say if they will cover or not. They can possibly consider it "a wear and tear item" and not cover it under warranty. I found with my 2013 that I have to turn it up half way(30 or so) just to hear it(none JBL and Entune). I found compared to my 2011 that I didn't have to turn it up as loud to hear it. I am also use to having aftermarket decks and speakers. Not keeping the OEM equipment for very long. If you complain they might cover it under warranty. But if you do it again I am sure that they may not be as inclined to do it under warranty.

Does anyone have a clue as to how much it might cost if not covered? Could it be something as simple as replacing the speaker, or is it possible that there might be a bigger problem? I had an aftermarket automatic headlight kit installed a few months ago, I hope they don't try to blame that!

You'd be better off changing the speakers on your own for better ones, instead of getting the dealer to change them.

www.*********.com has all the info if you choose to do so.

I'd rather not install myself,I hope it's just the speaker and nothing worse. Is there any way they can tell if the speaker was blown from playing music to loud?

Ok so I got a little frustrated today and I hit the door with the speaker in it that's not working, and now it's working! Wonder if I should still have the dealer look at it? At least I know it's not blown!
