    I've searched the threads and read about max payloads. I've seen a lot of people haul crazy amounts of weight on short distances.

    My question is what would you consider safe to haul about 3200 miles?

    I have a 09 SR5 4cy. Three leaf rear. Has the 290 lb sticker. Had a bumper that weighs probably 200 lbs. Getting a shell guessing around 50 lbs? I weigh 225 lbs.

    Would I be ok with 600-700 lbs in the back. Driving during winter from Redmond oregon to Jacksonville nc. Route will be south towards Vegas then east on 40.

    Thanks for any input.

    Depends how much it sags, if its alot then the front will steer and brake terrible. Distribute it as even a possible and check how much room you got between the bumpstops and frame.

    wish i could help, but i know nothing of the 4cyl capabilities...

    Most people will answer in regards to the 6 cyl and not read the post. Might have better luck starting a thread here...

    Vehicle Capacity for 4cyl Access Cabs change depending on your model...
    2wd = 1200lbs
    PreRunner/4wd = 1300lbs

    If you think your passenger + accessories add up to 500lbs, then adding 600-700lbs is maxing out depending on your model.

    Here's the manual: http://www.toyota.com/t3Portal/document/om/OM35A58U/pdf/sec_6-1.pdf

    And I love Jake's "Who's Harry Crumb" quote!!!
