People from Nc. Do any of you have frame rust? I asked about undercoating when I bought my truck new from the dealer and he said you dont need undercoating down here. I looked at my frame the other day and it only had a small circle of rust on one of the weld lines behind the passenger front tire. Mine has 14,000 miles on it never seen snow only rain and is in the garage most of the time.

No rust here. People in the mountains or who are constantly fishing at the beach might tell different stories but for the most part, you won't need much in the way of rust protection.

Thanks was just wondering. Greensboro usually get about a few snows a year. They say the use brine on the side streets and pre spray salt/brine on the highway.

I had some issues mainly with my body mounts behind my front tires. It was pitting pretty darn bad. So I took a grinder with a flapper disc and cleaned it up. Then I put primer on it and put spray bed liner on it.

Yeah up here in the mountains you gotta keep the salt sprayed off. I went ahead and undercoated my truck just to be extra safe
