I need to go take some cool pics of my truck instead of random ones while I'm bored lol.

The toolbox should come with slits inside of it where you would put the J-bolts to hook under the bed caps. You put a washer and nut on the J-bolt inside of the toolbox so it can't be loosened or stolen from outside of the toolbox. I marked where the J-hooks were touching under my rails (the rail where the tie downs move around) with a permanent marker. Then I took off the rails (only a few screws) and drilled holes there so the J-hooks would grab after I re-installed them.

The Kobalt boxes have a little piece you can adjust to make the lid tighter after it latches. The metal is a little more flimsy than some more expensive toolboxes, but I'm pretty happy with the locks.

My closest Lowe's couldn't order the black one because it was possibly discontinued. I ended up calling around to the different Lowe's in my area, and one store had a few of them while the other stores had none. You just have to ask around.

^ I replaced the hex nuts with wing nuts, so I could remove it quick if I needed to.

Ive had Husky, Delta, and Tractor Supply Co. The shocks went out on the Delta very quickly. The Husky held up pretty well. The best quality in my opinion was the Tractor Supply box. It is made by DeeZee. They just put the TSC badge on it.

Would you mind posting a close-up of the rail attached to your box. (Not a euphemism).

Here ya go.I used the original bolts that held the rail on the bed. I just drilled holes in the box,and used nuts to attach the bolts and then ground the bolts down on the inside of the box.

Haha. Kobalt is from Lowe's. They discontinued the black one for midsize trucks. Only silver now. :(

Toyota OEM found on Craigslist. I'm planning on painting the entire thing black, since the aluminum on top has some corrosion and the clear coat is peeling.

I found a good used one on CL locally for $100. I bought some DeeZee brackets to mount it to the rails. It was silver, I cleaned it and plastidipped it, turned out great IMO.

This is a Lund Challenger I got from JC Whitney - on sale with no shipping - but can't find receipt. Removed the front bed tie-down rail and replaced it with a piece of square steel tubing - then re-fitted that rail to the tool box rear. The tiny J-bolts (2) that came with the tool box were a bad joke so I replaced them with longer 5/16 J's from Ace Hardware - they engage the heavy duty hold downs at the front corner of the truck bed. Reinforced the toolbox at the J clamp holes with pieces of steel flat bar inside the box. Space inside is small - I was used to a big box and really had to down/size the amount of stuff "I couldn't live without".
