Thinking about getting a skid plate. What do you think of them? what are good brands? What do I need to do and think about, before I get one?

    Do you offroad at all?

If not, there's no point. They're used for protection to vulnerable stuff from rocks. The good ones add a pretty significant amount of weight to a vehicle and thus impact fuel economy.

I don't know if most manufacturer versions will fit on a prerunner.

I've had the Matt123 skid when I had the stock bumper and would recommend it.

I also currently have the Pelfreybilt and would recommend it as well.
