Craftsman make one for the compact beds for $256, & one for the full size for $171. Go figure.

Lowe's has Kobalt slimline toolboxes that fit the short beds for $100-200.

I got a Betterbuilt slimline, low profile. It is 12 inches from front to rear. It fits great, has a surprising amount of room for a box that small, and leaves a good amount of the bed open. I paid right over $300 for it.

I believe the Better Built and Kobalt toolboxes are the same thing with different brands slapped on them.

They are. When I got one for my last truck the paperwork even had Better Built on it. It was a kobalt.

Did you have to drill through the bed rail?
