So I have a question in two parts for the forum:

    1) how strong are the factory rims on a 2013 double cab off road edition? I would like to put 33's on the stock rims and want to know if they will support such a big tire. I would like to go to 33" bf Goodrich all terrains probably. I current have 29's bf Goodrich all terrain T/A.

    2) has anyone had Steel Wagon Wheel rims before? What do you think of them? I have the opportunity to buy a pair TONIGHT for pretty cheap and want to know what people thought of this rim. Here is a link to a description about the rim: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/USW-70-5760P. They're painted black though and they're 15x10.

I LOVE the look of the rim and since its steel, it will be a strong rim.

I would appreciate a quick reply at least on the used rims I have the chance to buy because I am meeting the guy in about 6-7 hours.

    Thanks all!!

Too many to list, and I've probably forgotten a bunch.
I was of the belief that 15's would not fit on the 6-lug 2nd gen Tacomas (nor on some later 1st gens).

I like the old-school wagon wheels too. I wouldn't mind slapping a set of 16's on my silver DCSB. :)

Sorry these are my first rims ever. Why would 15's not fit a DC?

15s would look weird on a Tacoma so just stick tot he off road and they will suit you just fine

Off-road. My mistake. I can snap some pic later tonight but I was pretty positive they measured 17".

15"s wont fit cause of the brake caliper clearance issue and if you get 33"s on the stock wheels you will need wheel spacers whether they are OR rims of the Sport rims.

There is only a couple models of 15's that will fit a 2nd gen.

Yeah, late 2004 (maybe a couple MY earlier, too) couldn't generally handle 15's due to caliper clearance issues. Wheeler's sold a set of 15's that would clear, but man it was a squeeze. I liked my '04 on 15's when I was running 31's, but when I went to a 235/85, the factory 16's worked better.

I know the Wheeler's 15's that fit on my '04 wouldn't fit on my '12 when I got it. Probably could have taken the angle grinder to the calipers, but no good reason to do that.

I think that is what I am gonna do. Stock OR's wrapped in 33's and spacers. I've heard mixed reviews on spacers from here though.

Can anyone shed some light on spacers you've used and would you run the setup again if you had to?
