    Hi Guys,

    Squeeking

My rear passenger side leaf is squeaking around corners, over rough road, and if I jump up and down in the bed.

I have 25,000 miles so I'm still under warranty and I'm taking the truck in next week. Do you think that they'll want to do the TSB? Is there something I should tell them that will make them more likely to give me the TSB? Is there another fix that they will want to do / should do?

    Do I want the TSB?

My truck has stock suspension and the nose down stance already bothers me just a little. Will the TSB cause the rear of the truck to sit up significant'y (.5 - 1" ) higher?

I commonly have my truck loaded up with 4-5 people, and dirt bikes, or stuff from Home Depot or half a yard of gravel etc. My truck really gets its use, so should I be trying to get the TSB so that the rear leaf springs will work better for my life style?

This brings me to my next question

If the rear will be lifted with the TSB, I will probably be wanting to lift the front. I've wanted Fox Coilovers for a long time, but I've yet to be able to bring myself to spend the money for mid travel - because I don't think that I would actually bring myself to tear around in the desert as much as I want to every time I'm out there with my dirt bikes. Should I get bilstein 1500's? Will they alter ride quality at all? I'm okay with a harder ride, but don't want any softer of a ride. (I'm a sports car guy at heart). What should I expect to pay for the 1500's and how much should I expect to have them installed?

    Thanks,

    Jack

The dealer fixed my squeaky springs under warranty with some "silencing kit"

Thanks for the info – I will ask about this but under warranty I'd rather have the part fixed that have some aftermarket piece added to fix the problem.

Are there any key words that I should use when describing my problems that will trigger the dealership to do the TSB on the rear leaf springs?

All i did was bounce my rear end up and down and the technician noted the problem and fixed it. They told me that it was a re-call in progress that was not yet "authorized" by toyota so they could not replace the leaf pack. All they did was place rubber washer to insulate the bolt on the leafe pack........that is all the info that I can remember. I did not have a problem getting them to fix it, if that is what you are reffering to.

Hmm, I wonder if the TSB has to be individually authorized on each model year... I'm sure it'll be authorized on my 2010

    Thanks for the information!
