suspension setup

okay guys, I am about to get an 08 4dr 4x4 tacoma trail team edition.

i have no idea suspension on the 2nd gen tacomas. i want a expedition type style but yet still able to flex and be a dd. not to mention it is a truck so i will haul stuff when needed. i plan on front and rear plate bumpers and a CVT top tent. i would like to be able to run 33s on 17x9 wheels. help please!

what ive seen with dakars though is under load they're slammed frowny face. please correct if i'm wrong. new to the 2nd gens.

 

Go with something like the all pro Offroad long travel kit, some fox coilovers, and rear fox, and dakars in the rear.

 

Dakars are a very tough leaf pack. They can handle a ton if weight and not frown.

That's alot of money. I'd go with the OME setup personally.

 

He didn't give a budget, but yes that would be way less expensive. However when you were done you would have two very different vehicles.

I haul stuff with my pickup and I've got dakars and they are great IMO.

 

Must just be 1st gens, never read anything like that about the 2nd gen Dakars. Check this thread out for more info:

thanks guys! budget isn't an issue right now. it will be bought in parts unless i get the OME set up, then put on at once. i won't be able to drive the truck much often anyways cause I am stationed in NAS Pensacola, FL and I am not allowed to have a POV down here. my dad will be driving it however. i might start with the OME. thanks for all the answers!!

EDIT: i am noticing guys are using billies for shocks then just OME coil overs, I am going to say that the OME complete set up is the best when y'all say get the OME kit correct? not the C/O's then some other shock.

 

another question....what about UCA's?

 

Haven't heard of any issues here from ome 885x with 5100 billies, quite a few people have done it, but a toytec and others won't want to honor warranties when they are mixed. They have a form email ready when you inquire about it.
