Thinking about painting my door badges and the Tacoma badge on the tailgate either graphite or charcoal. My Taco is black. Any suggestions on the color contrast? There is no chrome on my truck, and these stand out too much but I like them on.

Either way looks good. Initially I had no side badges then after a while it looked kinda plain so I put some back on...

I like to door badges so I derped them black, but I debadged the tailgate and added a TRD badge where the V6 badge was. I also pulled off the TRD Sport Vinyl from the bed sides.

When you say "dipped", what paint? I was going to go with a couple coats of mat black spray paint. Worried about flaking though.

I just peeled those TRD stickers off mine. They weren't too bad looking, but I started with the Supercharger stickers and got carried away. Did you buy new Tacoma badges or plastidip or paint your old ones and reattach them? If so, how did you reattach them? Thanks!

Tailgate is smooth, no badges. I've left the door badges on for now, can't decide if I like the truck without them. I'm on the fence looking at pictures on here, it may look too plain for my tastes. I'm not going to paint them, my luck a tree limb will chip the paint on the trail and then they'll look like crap.

He means plastidip. You can buy it at Home Depot on the caulking isle.

That's way too much emblem going on. Not my taste but each to their own.

This is what I did. I love it. I can change the colors anytime I want.

I reused the "Tacoma" but bought the "4X4" new from Toyota (Tundra badge).
For reattaching I used 3M outdoor mounting tape. Works great!

I hear ya. Think I'm going through a badge phase cuz I wouldn't of thought of adding anything a few years ago. For me I like how it adds some detail to the long side of a double cab...

You know if the "4x4" emblem wasn't so big it wouldn't be that bad. Especially if you put your "Tacoma" badge in the same spot as the 1st Gen Tacoma's, just under the mirror.
