Hey guys, a friend of mine is putting in a snorkel and needs to get rid of his upgraded air filter. He has offered to trade me his K&N intake for the stock intake on my truck. He has a 2008 tacoma sport, I have a 2013 tacoma sport. Will the K&N that fits the 08 engine also fit on mine??

    Thanks!

I believe it will fit. And if it does, take it and run. K&N for stock as an even trade? Buy the guy some beer when you go get your new CAI!

I know, I was super stoked when he told me! Before I call and tell him that we should start ripping out air filters, anyone 100% sure that this will work?

Is it not something that could be modified? I helped a buddy install a CAI into a car, and we wound up taking three inches off of the pipe with a hacksaw to make it work.

I'm just saying, as an even trade with no money invested in it, would it be worth the risk?

Yeah, he is right. There is no benefit to getting a K&N Air Filter. If you search around on the board you will come to the same conclusion.

Wow. I'm really surprised. Are there not any tests that have been done to prove HP improvement? That is what we are talking about right... HP not gas mileage

Some people on here have gained .5hp on the dyno. These motors are pretty much at their peak stock. The only real gains come from a supercharger.

There are tests that have been done. It's been done by members on the board who thought(like you) that there was going to be HP and MPG gain by adding the K&N filter. Even in your thread here, people are telling you the same thing. I am not sure why it's so hard for you to understand that? People who believe the hype are just silly because there are people who have tried it and the hype about the product isn't true.

The air pump that's part of the emissions system. Depending on how the K&N is plumbed you might be able to use it. If you don't mind moving some things around, it should be fine.

If you go under the hood, you will see a hose about toe size going across. That is the problem. You might be able to modify that. I would not mess any thing with emission related. Not worthed

Plus your truck is brand new, I would hold on your stock box, you never know when you have to go back to it.
