Seems like a lot to do just for a burnout.

You can launch in 4- wheel they warn you not to drive in 4 wheel drive because if you do any hard full lock turns on dry pavement it binds the axles going straight you will be fine.

Not true. As long as you are going straight you will be fine.

To get both rears to spin, you could use some water. But if you dont have drag slicks you dont want to use water because the water will get into the tread and actually reduce traction after your burnout. Drive around the water box! The best way to drag race in a 4wd truck is 4hi. Leave it in the entire run. That is if you are spinning leaving the line in 2hi. If you arent spinning leaving the line in 2hi, there isn't any reason to use 4hi.
If you dont care about times, and just want some sweet burnouts, use the water box, you should be able to light both.
