    Yes
Most likely your pre runner bumper will not fit the shape of the newer headlights and grill. If you look at any of the bumper fab shops web sites they have completely different bumpers for the new front ends... You would have a really big gap between the inside corner of the headlights and the grill to the bumper. Looked at doing this myself but it would look like sh*t with my current winch bumper :/

Hey RG, will there be enough of the clips to install the new rig? I'm talking about the retainer clips that clip in after the part inserts through the opening.

I'll post a quick shot. Thanks.

Yes, I bought it all separate. I'll try to get a count when I get home. I may order some just to have. In case any get lost or damaged during the build. I crawled under my Taco yesterday and looked around. It gave me a much better idea of what I have to look forward to. Looks pretty straight forward for the most part. I'll keep updating as I go along.

when i did mine, i did a whole detailed thread about this with all part numbers needed, its all there for you already, all said and done, if you buy new parts and do it yourself, and shop for good prices, you looking at $3,000-$4,000 for parts alone, IT IS ALOT more involved than a bumper cover and grille and some plastics, like i said every part you need i listed by part number

about the clips, no and you will mostly likely damage them when removing old ones, i HIGHLY suggest before you start buying new clips and plastic retainers

    cheers,
    disco

Thanks for the heads up disco. I have all the parts either here or on order. I even have a bunch of clips and retainers on order. I researched parts through several sources and so far have everything listed in your post as well as everything listed in RG's post. And a few things not listed that I just want to replace.

As of today, I have $1,629.83 invested. Far less than the $3000 or $4000 estimate we hear from others. A few items are actual OEM, but many are aftermarket parts. Suppliers include Toyota Parts Zone, Toyota-Parts.com and Rock Auto. I found the fog lights and the bumper reinforcement bar on E-Bay. But none of the parts are used. I wasn't able to find any used parts.

I'm going to do the build on Tuesday and Wednesday in two weeks and have the paint done on the following Weekend. I'm quite confident I'll be able to complete the build in two days. I've already started researching the procedure and I've been poking around my truck to see what's under there.

Wish me luck and I'll post more when I get started.
    Thanks, Steve

Yup, I see what you mean. My tires are only a bit oversize. 265/75R16 Destination AT's.

And I'm sure a guy could do a little cutting or modifying if necessary to get them to go.

Thanks for the post Bud. I'm going to install next week. I have 4 days off so I'll have time if there's a catastrophic issue of some sort.

I was thinking about posting some progression pictures. Do you all think I should start a new post or could I just piggy back on RG's post? What do the dev's think?? Is there too many of these as is??

    Thanks.

Hey, while you're here looking. I have a question for you all. I need an opinion.

The picture below is a comparison of my truck and what I hope it will turn out like. My question is, do you think it would look ok if I paint the fog light inserts the same as the bumper. I like the idea of color matching more parts. It'll also make mine a little more unique.

    Edit; or how about chrome??

    What do you think?

I think you can do a better post if you take many pics from the beginning ...to end of project. RG11 -tacoma parts are like gold.

Boy that's for sure. I did a search in about a 150 mile radius and found no used or salvage parts. Hopefully that will make it easier to sell the old ones.

I'm trying to repair a 2012 Taco that had the front bumper extensions knocked off (and broken) - parts 5211204050 and 5211304050. How do those clip into the main plastic bumper cover? Are there retaining clips that go over the extensions' tabs before inserting them into the main bumper slots?

Quick question, does the part underneath the grill to mount the bumper need to be replaced?
