Only reason I started a new thread is I just got a call from the dealer and my truck is at another dealer 300 miles away.

Am I being weird by wanting the new truck to have less than 15 miles? The dealer I'm using wants msrp for the truck, wasnt willing to go any lower than that so should I wait for a 14? I have to drive 6 hours to get the truck which is ok except I feel like I'm paying new for a demo truck.

    What to do?

In my humble opinion, I would expect the same thing, a low milage truck. And I would want them to deliver it to my closest dealer.
If you are going to pay full price they can deliver it to the dealer near you, not have you drive 300 miles away! That's NOT customer service!

this and your better than me because i would want less than 10. you have the right to want it your way because YOU are paying for this truck and especially if your paying full price you should be able to get what ever you want. shit if i was a salesman i would give you free car washes for a year. (local dealership washed every car that goes through there service station so its not a big deal :D)

Agreed. If you are making a deal with a local dealer, it's their job to get you the truck you want (with low miles). Now if you are in a situation like I am, where the local dealer doesn't really want to deal, but I want a better deal so I am actually looking up to an hour or so away at other Toyo dealers trying to find a better deal, the obviously I'll have to drive and put the miles on her. But if that dealer wants your business, then tell them to flat bed that bad boy or take a significant chunk off :)

The salesman found a way to flatbed the truck to the dealer, we are good to go.
Thanks Gents, thought I might have been unreasonable.:D

its probably because the dealer wont back down on price and if he decides to resell in the future thats 300 less than overall :D

Why pay full price for a truck that is not brand new? Some people, myself included, want to buy a new truck that is new and not a new truck with 300 miles put on it by someone that may not have the trucks best interests in mind.

I'd say, "flat bed or nothing. With 300 miles being added, it's no longer new. They should sell it to you at a used price because that's what it is, used.

Exactly. I know the engines are broken at the factory, but still I wouldn't want some slacker running the piss outta my new ride bringing it to the dealership.

I just asked about this for a '13 I ordered. They are doing a dealer trade and the truck gets delivered in about 2 weeks.

My salesperson said that they would never drive a new vehicle longer than across town, especially on the highway since break in is supposed to be varied speeds. It's being delivered on a flatbed.

I would expect a brand new truck to have less than 15 miles on it, if it had over 300 I'd definitely want a nice discount, because that's no longer NEW!

My truck had 9 miles on it when I bought it. "I" put all the miles on it with the exception of a few from my wife. When I buy a new vehicle I want it to be new. If they were going to dealer trade it then they will send some kid up to pick it up and who the hell knows what they will do with it on the way back to the dealership. I used to drive dealer trades for my Mothers dealership all the time when I was in high school for a little extra money. Sports cars were always fun. Now if he was going to pick it up himself that might be a little different but still.

Imo paying MSRP for a Tacoma is way worse than a dealer driver putting on 300 miles.

You are getting screwed paying MRSP.

Those first 10 miles already screwed the motor.

My truck had zero miles on it before the test drive and plastic on the seats. Only other person to drive it has been the lot jockey who scrubbed it up when I did the paper work. Just sayin.
