For those who say the bed outlet is useless, I say BS! Usually I use it to charge my batteries for my drill or little stuff like that...well, today it came in very handy. We were mounting some outside lights on the building and we needed a hammer drill to mount them. The nearest outlet was literally 300+ feet away. I had about 100 feet in extension cords. Obviously not gonna work:( I said, hey, ya know what, I have an inverter on my truck!

Grabbed the truck, plugged the drill in, and WALA! Got all 4 lights hung using it! Hammer drill has to be right on the verge of tripping it, but it didn't.

So it saved my ass at work today for all you naysayers.

    :)

Nice, any time I try to plug say, an electric tooth brush into it it trips. I still say it's useless.

this was the factory toyota one in the bed of my truck.

400 watts max. I thought for sure the hammer drill would trip it. It ran a little slower than the wall outlet, but did the job none-the-less.

what were you hanging lights on?
    A concrete wall?
Why did you use a hammer drill?
did they compensate you for this months payment. as they had to use your personal equipment to do their job?

To drill in concrete you have to use a hammer drill. A regular drill won't cut it.

    Stock. Purchased 2/17/19. Cement!
Im jealous. I still haven't used mine. I should go by a portable air compressor to inflate my own tires for those days when I go off-roading. Another Tacoma saves the day! Great story Roy!
