So I've got my '13 DCSB 2.7L PreRunner and lately(mostly since I joined TW) I've been dying to have a 4wd. However, I can't decide if going from my current truck to a '13 Access Cab 2.7L 4x4 would be worth a little extra $$ monthly. OR if I should hold out a few years and get a double cab 4x4. I don't really need the DC space, I think the 4x4 is more easily justified than the full size rear doors..

And yes, I know in the end it's a matter of personal preference ;)

I know what you mean, tons of peer pressure for some reason..just like on the Challenger forum I used to frequent.

    Have I needed 4x4? Nope.
Have I needed my back seats(since I don't have a little one to tote around anymore)? Nope.

Heck, technically I don't even need the truck bed.

If u like wheeling get a 4x4. If u have kids get a dbl cab. if yes to both then get a dbl cab 4x4.
If u don't plan on offroading then stick with what u have. Just my 2¢

If you're not having issues taking your truck where you want and need to go now, why take a depreciation hit and sell it for something you don't really need?

We all have things we don't technically need. It's nice to have when it is needed. You have a camper shell on your truck, why not just get a 4runner and a trailer? Oh, because you like your truck.

Will be different when I move, paved roads everywhere I am now. Won't be the case when I move.

    Double Cab FTW...

Every time I feel like my next truck could be an access cab or regular cab, the double cab finds a way to show me why that wouldn't work.

Once you get used to that space and ease of access, you'll never want to let it go, especially for a daily driver.

I know what you mean, the space can be useful, but it's just more room for me to pile junk than anything.

It's rare for me to drive anywhere without something in the backseat, usually stuff that I don't want to get wet or stolen.

Mountain biking stuff, skiing stuff, firewood cutting stuff, fishing stuff, hunting stuff, beach stuff, groceries......or just anytime you take a trip, so luggage is a big one.

    Touche on the 4runner lol.

Thank you! That's what I was looking for, wasn't trying to be a doucher, my bad! I already told you I like your truck the other day haha.

    Too few to list.
I think the question here is not about need, it's about affordability. If you can afford it, go for it.
