How Do I Mount Chrome Wheel Skins?

I figured out you have to remove the center cap, but I'm not sure if you just push them on. They have tabs at each wheel opening but nothing around the edge like a typical wheel cover. So, should I just hit them with the back of my palm to get them on?

Please resist the urge to tell me to buy $500 alloys!

Thanks,

BB

I took off many of these working in a shop and you have to put them on with a little bit of force.

I think he's talking about the same wheel covers mine came with.

plastic and insanely bright. I was pleasantly surprised to find there were actually regular center caps underneath. So I have a stack of these on a shelf in the garage now. Can't wait to change out the wheels and tires. Only thing about the truck I don't like.

Ha!

Love the feedback! Yes, these are the chrome cladding ones for $53 on ebay. I'm looking for alloys but could not resist trying these for the first winter. Yes, they are insanely bright but I don't get a chance to wash my vehicles often so that ahold take the edge off.

I have a set of the plastics chrome covers for the stock steel wheels. I will not run them in the winter, as they trap salty slush between the cover and the wheel. Rust!

Dang

Dang, they are BRIGHT! Drove around today and saw many Tacomas and nt one with these skins. Most dudes are content with steelies. Ill see if these things calm down with some road dirt. If not, the $50 experiment will go on Craigslist.

They are pretty ridiculous. I was planning on taking the wheels and tires off mine and putting them on craigslist after I get replacements. Then I looked and there was 5 sets of the same wheels and tires already on there locally. Crazy. I don't think the plain steel wheels look too bad but they aren't my thing and I know the Dunlop AT20's are horrible in the snow. Replaced them on my first second gen tacoma about 3k miles after I bought it.

Ok

Just saw another one with the chrome skins - slightly dirty. They looked good - better than just steel, so there is hope.
