Castrol Syntech is certified for use in Audi's. I use it, and I go 10K miles between changes (per the manual).

An oil change ends up costing around $90 with the filter, but you go forever before you need to do it again.

Mine is 9 quarts as well. Funny that the Audi 3.2 takes three more quarts of oil than the Taco's 4.0

That's just ignorance on their part...

The other day my girlfriend was driving my car, and I get a text that says, "how do I put gas in this thing".

She just didn't know how to open the filler door, but then it hit me: If she doesn't know how to do that, she also probably doesn't know that it needs 91 octane.

Sure as shit, she put 87 in the fucking thing. I was not happy.

993 will take around 12 quarts of oil. changing the oil and oil filters is neither difficult or expensive. Just a little time consuming.

^Yes, because instead of being water-cooled like most other modern cars, the Porsche engine was oil-cooled.

I really like the looks of those Audi coupes. One of my friends had an S5 for a while but he recently traded it on a used Aston Martin. The bastard! Any current high-end car has the potential to bankrupt it's owner once it's out of warranty. Which is why so many of them are leased, and why so many of them depreciate so fast. I've had multiple vehicles for the last 20 years. A nice car compliments a Tacoma quite well. I prefer older BMW's myself though. I've never been able to hold onto a newer car very long. My 89 325is is about perfect. Fun to drive, cheap to maintain, and actually appreciating in value. Doesn't hold a candle to a newer one in terms of actual performance though.

    That's an interesting point.

81,000 hard miles is quite a bit different than 81,000 easy miles.

My Audi has 121,000 REALLY hard miles. I beat that thing mercilessly and it never shows any signs of fatigue.

That says a lot for how well German cars are built.
