Brought my Tacoma to the quarter mile drag strip last night. My truck is a completely stock TRD Sport DCSB. It was really humid last night with a temp of 85 degrees, but I managed to pull these times:
    60'- 2.249
    330'- 6.495
    1/8- 10.047
    MPH- 68.68
    1000'- 13.140
    ET- 15.754
    MPH- 86.28
I found out that preloading the torque converter/transmission actually helps with these trucks. I lowered my 1/4 mile ET by a tenth, in comparison to flashing the converter by just flooring it from idle :burnrubber: I had a lot of fun. No problems with wheel spin. Got about 6 runs in before I called it quits. Here's a video of one of the runs:

That's my friend's 1988 BMW E28. He does drifting with it. It's gutted on the inside with the rear end welded for a locker. It's a fun second car that he just screws around with.

    Nice run!
I took my old 2004 Prerunner, stock 3.4 with auto to the 1/4 mile once. Ran a best of 16.8 @ 79 mph.
Raced it against my brothers 2008 Ford Ranger 4.0, auto with JBA headers. He ran 15.2 @ 88mph.
Now my 2005 4.0 feels a lot faster, that for sure. Wonder what a TRD or URD charged Tacoma would run?

I'd think they would be in the high 13's somewhere.

    They don't require a helmet?

I think only 12.99 and below requires a helmet.

yeah, you have to be pretty quick to need a helmet. And if you're really fast you have to have a roll cage. I miss going to the local drag strip, it was fun.
