I don't understand how the same engine can have MPG's all over the place on a stock truck. Anywhere from 11 to 23 or more reported here on this thread. I know driving habits and terrain can affect mileage but it should not have that much effect. That's brutal. What speed do you normally drive on the highway?

I believe where you live will also make a difference. I'm in the people's republic of Taxifornia and they do something to the gas (ostensibly for the emissions) that makes it less efficient. I got much better mileage on my other cars when fueling up in Vegas or Arizona.

Bite me brakeman. If my research leads me to believe that I should get 18+ mpg and I'm getting 13 I can whine if I want. Go to the cupcake forums and bitch about icing techniques or something.

I'm getting about 20 mpg. 2013, 4.0, 2wd pre-runner, BFG, stock size, no lift, no engine mods.

So far I've recorded between 15-16mpg of mostly city driving. I got my oil changed today at 58.5k miles (car came with lifetime oil changes). I need to replace the air filters and spark plugs at 60k. I think I could get closer to 17 if I drove more consciously.

My mileage has gotten really rough this winter... 14.6mpg.

But we have also had a very rough winter in Chicago. So lots of warming up the truck, defrost is on all the time and 4x4 is being used a couple time a week.

I tell you, it hits the wallet pretty hard.

What psi do u run in the tires, all the same or staggered front and rear psi?

    What oil?

    Gas octane?

    Large grades?

How long does it sit idling when u start it?

    Mileage gets better after time.

Are you basing miles driven off if the odometer?

I dont know how u store the truck and how long it takes for the trans to warm up to temp, do u notice it NOT wanting to shift into higher gears for a longer time than expected a lot?

Last highway trip I managed 19.3 mpg with roughly a 300lb skid in back. Last 20 miles of trip I had put the truck into 4wd due to whiteout conditions. All stock except load range c 245/75-16 duratracs.

What psi do u run in the tires, all the same or staggered front and rear psi? 32 all around but intend to up that today. Suggestions on what psi?

What oil? Whatever came in it. 600 miles

Gas octane? 87. Our 91 is apparently ethanol free so I might try a tank of that

Large grades? I would not call them extreme, more so rolling highway.

How long does it sit idling when u start it? Sometimes 2 to 5 minutes. Sometimes not at all.

Mileage gets better after time. Hopefully! I did squeeze out 15.7 on the last tank at <65 mph and driving like the people who pies me off drive.

Are you basing miles driven off if the odometer? For now, yes. On a 250 mile drive it matched highway signs perfectly. I am a GPS fanatic so I will use one eventually.

I dont know how u store the truck and how long it takes for the trans to warm up to temp, do u notice it NOT wanting to shift into higher gears for a longer time than expected a lot? Stored outside. I do notice that sometimes as I watch the tach closely.

I also have winter tires on.

I just did a Mileage check on my 2014 AC 4 cyl... I got 24.23 MPG. Almost all of it Freeway, but in the Dallas Area, Freeway is pretty nearly a top and go endeavor.

I don't believe the Mileage, personally, as I have had my truck checked and the Mileage and MPH are about 3.8% over reality. So I'm showing and reading more Miles than I'm actually doing, and at speeds that are lower than I show. at 40 mph, I'm around 2 mph slower than showing.

This is a completely factory vehicle, original tires and all. I haven' done ANYTHING to it aside from installing the rear license plate.

1500 miles into the new V6 DCSB and I've been averaging between 19-20mpg. This is mostly highway with a lot of stop & go traffic. 87 octane gas.

my lifted with some extra weight 2.7 reg cab 4x4 has been under 15mpg since late november'ish. cold or warm weather, just not running good, even when running 91-94 octane fuels, same bad mpg.
