2012 Stock TRD Sport Steering Vibs

I know there is alot of threads about Vibs and Steering Wheel Vibs with our Tacomas but mine is strange...

I drive on an 80KM/HR backroad highway full of sweeping S curves over 140kms per day back and forth to work and found a strange trend with my truck...

When i straighten out the truck after going through the Right hand turn going approx 90-100km/hr the steering wheel begins to shudder/vibrate, nothing horrible but definately noticeable for 1 km or so, then after going through the Left Hand part of the turn the shudder goes away. This goes on back and forth through about 3 different S curves.

Its like turning the truck to the right turns on the vibs and turning to the left makes it go away... i thought i was crazy at first so i spent a day doing it over and over again and it happened everytime.

Any thoughts on what could cause this ? Im assuming its not the tires or i would get it all the time ??

 

If you're still under warranty why not bring it to the dealer?

 

Its going into the dealer...just thought i'd see if anyone else has seen anything like this. I know the dealer is going to want to balance the tires and probably do an alignment, both of which arent covered under warranty.

 

Try increasing your tire pressure to 36psi. Factory calls for 30psi. I had similar problem, dealer couldn't resolve problem. So I played around with different tire pressure's and this resolved problem.

 

Anythings worth a shot at this point...the vib doesn't really bother me that much but my warranty is close to running out and id like to get it fixed ASAP...

Im not a mechanical guy...is there anything that stands out to anyone in the front end that could cause the vibrations to come and go when the steering wheel is turned from one side to the other ?

 

Guess not...OH well hopefully the dealership might be able to figure it out for me.

 

my '12 Sport vibs thru the steering wheel sometimes, not always. But I'v got non stock tires and wheels. I think it's the rag joint in the steering collum.

 

I felt a little vib last month on my 12. Check my susp bolt&nut ( any thing related to). Found some loose nuts. Work out ok now.

 

Well brought er in for my 56K service today, kid behind the counter told me that the techs were able to duplicate the vibration and figure it is just a wheel balance issue, they balanced the front tires and were very proud to tell me they fixed the problem.

Im still not sure im sold on the idea though...if it was simply a balance issue would it not happen all the time not just after right or left hand turns ?/
