taillight converter problem

When I bought my 2006 Tacoma TRD Sport with an after market towing hitch, the towing lights did not work. I replaced the taillight converter with a Hopkins 48915 powered converter. It does not work either. I am pretty certain I have everything wired up correctly. My problem is that I have 12V output to both the right and the left turn lights on all the time when I check the outputs at the seven blade connector. Does anyone have any ideas?

 

First thing I would check is that the way you wired in the # HM48915

First thing I would do is wire the red wire from the # HM48915 to the wire that has voltage when the brake pedal is depressed and does not have voltage when the blinkers are activated.

Next, attach the yellow wire to the circuit that activates with the left turn blinker.

Next, attach the green wire to the circuit that activates with the right turn blinker.

Now you will attach the black wire to the brake tail light circuit.

Finally, attach the white wire to a good ground.
