Tacoma and 4-runner have not been a sheetmetal match since the late 90s.
They've had similar styling, but not the same, and the updates have not been at the same intervals.
The new taco will probably be out in 2015 or 2016 though... they seem to run 10 years before major redesigns on the platform.

I wouldn't ever go by the Toyota site. They can't even get the make up of their existing packages correct. The TRD site still has "current info" dated from 2011.

Pretty much. If they really were doing a redesign they would have announced it already. I will drive my Tacoma until it falls apart or they redesign it and it has been out a couple years

Interesting that everything we've seen has been DoubleCab trucks from Baja.

Same old tired outdated trucks with worse gas mileage than a full size Ford or Chevy. I will pass. How can any one be excited? So much for a redesign with a modern engine

Posts have all been from the Cali area also...could have something to do with it...quicker to get there than other places...IIRC, the beds are all shipped from Mexico, so the Texas plant may be awaiting their arrival...Mexico wouldn't have that problem.

I wouldn't buy a first year complete redesign either tho...even if it was a Toyota...

Don't expect sales to slip much since The Dakota ,Ranger and Colorado are gone. Its either buy a outdated Tacoma or Frontier if you want a mid size truck so there is no competitive reason for them to redesign until the CAFE standards change. If everyone held off buying a 2014 maybe they would get their redesign out sooner. When someone puts in a small Diesel that will be a big game changer.

I just put a deposit on a 2014 dbl cab TRD. Delivery delayed here in CO because of flooding, but hope to pick it up 9/25. Yes its my first post, but will also me my first Tacoma. Sold 2010 FX4 with 5.4L. Almost picked up a 3.5L twin turbo FX4, but ever since I looked at the Tacoma up close when buying my wife's Sienna early this summer....I couldnt quit thinking about it! So I pushed all in and will post pics upon delivery. PS if anyone knows what fj13/graphite interior looks like let me know...

I've read from many sources that the redesign Canyon/Colorado will be getting a turbo diesel.

My 2014 DCSB 4X4 TRD Off Road will be delivered this Friday, and I'll pick it up Saturday.

Same as the guy above; 1st post/1st Tacoma.

That Blue Ribbon color looked nice in the photos...I wonder what it will look like in person. I really wanted a blue Tacoma over MGM, but when I went to buy mine, the Nautical Blue was just too purple for me.

What I really want to see is what those dark tinted SR headlights will look like.
